Nigerian Police Arrest 57 Men, Accuse Them of Being Gay

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested 57 suspects, who were allegedly being initiated into a homosexual club at a hotel in Egbeda area of Lagos. Same-sex activity is illegal in Nigeria and carries a 14-years jail sentence. The arrested suspects, however, denied the allegation, saying the police did not give them a chance to defend themselves.
