Death Toll Rises in Southern Ethiopia, Hundreds Displaced

About 35 people have been killed in the Sidama zone in southern Ethiopia since July 18, according to witnesses who say hundreds of people have also been displaced after their property was vandalised.

A regional TV, South Radio and Television Agency, showed burned cares, shops, bars and restaurants in Aleta Wendo town during its news hour last night. It also featured distraught civilians who have lost their belongings.
