Tanzania, Rwanda Among 10 Fastest-Growing World Economies
The East African region registered growth at an average of 5% in 2019, according to the African Development Bank's 2020 African Economic Outlook report. Africa's economic growth is forecast to rise to about 4% in 2020 and 2021, from 3.4% in 2019, which will be driven by infrastructure investments and natural resource exports, the report says.
