Nigeria Faces Mystifying Spike In Deadly Lassa Fever

Nigeria has reported that the death toll from the Lassa fever outbreak ravaging the country has rose to 144. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has noted that the number of suspected cases significantly increased compared to that reported for the same period last year. Lassa fever is a disease spread to humans through food or household items contaminated with rodent urine or feces.
