WHO Provides Life-Saving Support to Liberian Diabetes Patients

The World Health Organisation's office in Liberia has through its representative Dr Peter Clement, donated a consignment of Human Insulin and Glucagen to the health ministry's Dr Wilhelmina Jallah, with the aim of treating more diabetese patients. WHO has said that the low rates of testing and management of diabetes cases is of great concern, considering that people living with non-communicable diseases, including diabetes mellitus, have increased risk of developing severe COVID-19-related illness and death. This situation is worsened by the lower number of patients attending healthcare facilities since the pandemic's spread.
