Outrage at Ukraine's Alleged Plan to Recruit Fighters From Africa

In answer to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's call for "like-minded people to come to his country's defence against Russia's invasion" - many young Africans have said that if they had the opportunity, they would go.

Ryan Cummings, director of Signal Risk, a South African-based security risk management consultancy said: "African nationals might see an economic opportunity by participating in this conflict. President Zelenskyy might be capitalising on Africa's challenging socio-economic conditions to lure African fighters to Ukraine", in a piece by Chrispin Mwakideue for Deutsche Welle.
