South Africa Leads Nations in Transitioning to Renewable Energy
South Africa's journey towards decarbonisation via the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) has been described as one of the major achievements of the 2021 COP26 climate change conference. The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Africa Program and the African Climate Foundation held a panel discussion this week on the JETP including how its implementation in South Africa may be applied to other nations on the continent and the changing role of the international community in mobilising climate finance.
