Nigeria Farmers Praise Tinubu's State of Emergency On Food

President Bola Tinubu has declared an immediate State of Emergency on food insecurity to tackle the increase in the prices of food, which has worsened after some government policies were implemented, including the removal of subsidy on petrol, Premium Times reports.

The Sorghum Farmers Association of Nigeria said the president's declaration would make Nigeria more self reliant in food production and more food secure, Vanguard reports.

Conflict, particularly in the north-east of the country has also put thousands of children at risk of starvation.
