Israel Mulls Deportations After Police Fire at Eritrean Protest

Protests by asylum-seekers and migrants opposed to the Eritrean government turned violent in Tel Aviv on Saturday. Israeli medical officials have said more than 114 people were treated for injuries, including about 30 police officers. At least three protesters were shot during the protests, authorities added.

The violence erupted during a protest against an event organized by the Eritrean embassy in the Israeli coastal city. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said "a red line" was crossed during the demonstration and the country is considering deporting Eritreans who participated.
