Mauritius Strives to Revive Tourism Sector Hard Hit by Pandemic

The government of Mauritius is prioritizing revitalization of the tourism sector to reverse the major decline since the global Covid outbreak began in 2020. According to the latest proejections from Statistics Mauritius, visitors will reach near pre-pandeic levels by the end of 2023. Late last year, Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth announced plans for creating a 10-year blueprint aimed at boosting tourism and positioning Mauritius as a more competitive in the sector.

As part of the promotion effort, the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority oraganized a visit to India bor a delegation of 24 operators who put on e three-city road show - in Mumbai, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
