Inaugural Namibia-Mauritius Forum Strengthens Economic Ties

Exploring opportunities to deepen the bond of friendship and cooperation was the forcus of the Namibia-Mauritius Trade and Investment Forum in Windhoek November 8 and 9, 2023. "Together, Namibia and Mauritius can achieve great things, and I am confident that the partnerships forged here today and tomorrow will contribute significantly to our mutual success," NIPDB executive director Dino Ballotti told the forum.

Geerish Bucktowonsing, director of industry at the Mauritius Economic Development Board (EDB), said the Mauritian economy continues to reinvent itself and has consolidated its position as the leading business and financial services hub in the Indian Ocean. "AfCFTA is a game-changer in terms of creating a bigger and integrated regional market for African products, permitting producers to benefit from economies of scale and to access cheaper raw materials and intermediate inputs," Bucktowonsing told the Forum.

The Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB) hosted the EDB Mauritius on the 6th and 7th November 2023 for the Namibia-Mauritius Business Forum & Buyers and Sellers Meeting.
