Succes Masra Is New Prime Minister of Chad
Succes Masra, an opposition leader who just returned to Chad from exile, is the new prime minister appointed by the country's interim administration, according to Al Jazeera, writes Jerry Chifamba for AllAfrica.
Chad's transition from military rule to civilian rule has been delayed several times, after longtime ruler Idriss Déby Itno was killed while visiting troops fighting a militia insurgency in the north of the country on April 20, 2021. His son, Mahamat Idriss Déby, declared himself head of a Transitional Military Council after his father's death.
