UN Chief Stresses Commitment to Sudan As Mission Ends
The United Nations Transition Assistance Mission in Sudan - which was tasked with aiding the transition from dictatorship to democratic rule - has ended its mandate. But UN Chief António Guterres said that the world body was "not leaving Sudan", especially at a time when fighting continues throughout the country between rival militaries that has displaced millions and created a worsening humanitarian emergency.
