Boakai Submits Maiden Budget to Liberian Legislature

Liberian Finance Minister Boima Kamara, on behalf of President Joseph Boakai, has submitted the administration's maiden budget of US$690 million to the legislature following months of delay. It is expected to espouse the president's vision for the country, which he encapsulated in the acronym "ARREST" (Agriculture, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation, Tourism). Liberian officials have said the budget highlights a reliance on domestic revenue, "with a small portion coming from external sources".
