Questions Around Police in Kenya Courts After Magistrate Killed

Kenyans are in disbelief after a magistrate was shot in open court by a police officer after she ruled in the case involving the officer's spouse. Magistrate Monica Kivuti later died of her wounds, leading to concerns about the access police officers have to courtrooms.

The Chief Justice has ordered the closure of all courts across the country to mourn the murder of Kivuti.

Three other police officers were injured in the incident as they tried to tackle the rogue policeman.
