48 Killed in Nigeria Fuel Tanker Crash

A collision between a truck and a tanker in Niger state has resulted in the deaths of 48 individuals and the loss of at least 50 cattle. Several other vehicles were also involved in the crash.

Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago urged residents of the impacted area to stay calm and advised road users to ''exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to protect lives and property".

Fuel tanker explosions and accidents frequently occur in Nigeria, largely due to the deteriorating condition of the roads.
