The President of the self-declared republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi, has made several key changes to his government, affecting the agriculture, water development, and technology sectors. Notably, Barkhad Jama Hersi Batun - who secured the highest number of votes in the 2021 parliamentary elections - has been appointed Minister of Information, Culture, and National Guidance.
The reshuffle also included the reassignment of several deputy ministers. According to an official decree, these changes are intended to "strengthen government performance and coordination."
