MSF Shuts Crucial South Sudan Hospital After Attack

Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has announced the "permanent" closure of its hospital in the northeastern city of Lankien following an aerial attack in early February. The facility had served the remote community for over three decades, providing essential healthcare services.

In a statement, MSF reported that a bomb dropped from a plane struck a warehouse within the hospital compound, destroying vital medical supplies. While the aid group could not definitively confirm the perpetrator, it said: "government forces are the only party with the capacity for aerial bombing".
