The 30-day voter registration exercise comes to a close today. This, even as the High Court declined to issue orders to extend the voter registration exercise. The High Court said the application by Kituo Cha Sheria to have the voter registration exercise extended failed to present crucial reasons for the extension. The High Court further declined to allow prisoners to participate in the March 4th, 2013 general election. The registration and participation of prisoners in the electoral process was not planned for by the Indepedent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). IEBC has stated that it will not extend the voter registration exercise deadline.
