U.S. Secretary of Energy, African Energy Ministers Convening to Discuss Challenges Facing Africa Power Sector

WHAT:

Africa’s Power Sector Ministerial Forum, the kickoff event for the 8th Biennial U.S.-Africa Business Summit, will include presentations by African Ministers of Energy and U.S. Secretary of Energy Chu.  It is a rare forum for African decision makers in the power sector and American investors to meet to discuss feasible investments and new opportunities in Africa.  More than two-thirds of countries in sub-Saharan Africa are currently experiencing a debilitating power crisis.  Energy infrastructure plays an important role in African economies and is critical for development.

The Forum is being hosted by The Corporate Council on Africa and the U.S. government.
