A native of Malawi currently based in London, James is the winner of the 2015 Young African Achiever Award in the Changemaker category. At the consulting firm he founded, AJ Africa Consulting Ltd., James advises a broad range of clients in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa on communications, business strategy, and political risk. He has worked in sectors ranging from sports and media to energy and wildlife preservation. He also currently serves as Regional Director for Rainbow Sports Global, a leading global sports agency focused on African football.

James is a regular current affairs commentator on international media platforms. He helped launch the Africa Brand Leadership Academy (ABLA) in Johannesburg, South Africa in February 2021, where he serves as a faculty member providing training to executives on international relations and brand identity.

He also previously served as the Malawi Country Director for Invest Africa Ltd., a leading pan-African business platform.
