The African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) and the African Development Bank will jointly host a webinar on 29 November 2023, from 12:00-14:30 GMT to look at regulatory independence and autonomy in the electricity sector,

The webinar will bring together national and regional electricity regulatory authorities, senior government officials from Africa's energy ministries, development partners, the private sector, policy and technical experts, academia, think tanks, and civil society groups. They will discuss case studies from the continent, as well as discuss the meaning, significance, and differences between regulatory independence and regulatory autonomy.There will be two sessions as outlined below:

Presentations on regulatory independence and autonomy in the electricity sector, including two case studies.
