MSF/Epicentre reports on conditions in West Darfur. 75,000 displaced people have settled in Mornay, West Darfur, Sudan. The original population was a mere 5,000. In an MSF survey released yesterday, MSF has found that one in 20 of the displaced were killed in the violence; 200 people per month are still dying from violence, starvation and disease. MSF has treated over 5,000 children for malnutrition. Water distribution is far below needs and the camps are still being terrorised - forcing the entire population to be dependent on external aid which is too slow to arrive and insufficient to meet the needs.
