A blue ribbon panel of policy experts outlines seven proposals for strengthened U.S. engagement in Africa, in a new report published by CSIS. The report calls for high-level U.S. leadership and offers proposals in seven areas: crafting a U.S. energy policy for Africa, capital market and financial sector development in sub-Saharan Africa, an action strategy for a post-conflict Sudan, natural resource conservation in Africa, countering the terrorist threat in Africa, crisis diplomacy and peace operations, and continuing U.S. leadership to combat HIV/AIDS in Africa and globally.
