The report, prepared in response to a request of the Secretary Council Working Group on Children and armed conflict, includes recommendations for the Lord's Resistance Army regarding to the recent incidents of cross border recruitment and use of children and women from Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and southern Sudan. The report calls on the LRA to end its use and recruitment of child soldiers. In addition, the report said that the release of children cannot be dependent on a peace agreement. The Security Council was assured that this message was conveyed properly to LRA leader Joseph Kony. This, however, action cannot be verified because of there is no contact between the UN and LRA leadership.
