Economic recovery gained momentum in the first half of 2010, and short-term prospects have improved. Private sector activity has picked up, and agriculture
production increased because of favorable climatic conditions, thus keeping price pressures down. With improved prospects in the cotton and mining sectors, economic growth in 2010–11 is projected to be higher than originally anticipated.
