In Eldoret, unga millers said the supply of maize had reduced to a trickle in the last few days, and there may soon be nothing in their stores. The warning came amid revelations that the government failed to heed experts warning on maize stocks in the country. A cabinet committee chaired by President Mwai Kibaki, met today, and agreed that importation of maize be hastened. And as Linda Ogutu reports, those imports may now include genetically modified maize.
