Teachers Vote to Continue Strike

As the new strike by teachers in Public schools entered the second day, the Uganda National Teachers Union is vowing to continue with the protest despite calls from government against the industrial action. The Union has now given Parliament atleast three days to come up with a comprehensive statement on their plight or they turn to phase two where students will not attend school. Meanwhile, teachers are claiming that Resident District Commissioners and some armed government officials sent to monitor them are issuing threats and warning them of dismissal they don't return to class.
