A storm is brewing over the president's assent of the price control act into law. Manufacturers, lobbyists and even consumer organizations have described the move as retrogressive in a free market economy. But the man behind the original motion in parliament, Mathira MP Ephraim Maina, is calling for the speedy implementation of the act, saying it will cushion Kenyans against the rising cost of living.
