Frenchwoman Abducted by Al-Shaabab

A 66-year-old French citizen is now the second foreigner to be kidnapped by suspected Al-Shabaab combatants operating along the Kenya-Somalia border. According to the Internal Security Minister George Saitoti, the abduction took place early this morning. The kidnappers launched their assault from Ras Chiamboni, across the border from Kenya, and were able to escape capture by Kenya's navy officers.
