Ugandan Former Vice president Gilbert Bukenya Chogm Trial Begins

Former Vice president Professor Gilbert Bukenya today entered a plea of "not guilty" to charges brought against him at the anti- corruption court. The charges read to him relate to abuse of office, a crime he allegedly committed between July 2006 and November 2007. Prof. Bukenya also faces charges of influence peddling in which he is accused of rooting for Motor-care Uganda limited in a contract in which the company supplied 80 BMW vehicles and police motorcycles,for the 2007 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
