Gay Activist Murderer Given 30 Years

The High Court in Mukono today sentenced Sidney Nsubuga - the man suspected to have murdered gay rights activist, the late David Kato, to thirty years in prison. Presiding Judge Joseph Murangira passed the sentence after Nsubuga pleaded guilty to the offense which he committed early this year at the deceased's home in Kyetume, Nakisunga sub-county, Mukono district. Still in court, the constitutional court has declared that former Lord Resistance Army top commander Thomas Kwoyelo be set free.
