Foreign affairs minister Moses Wetangula will spend yet another night in the capital city of strife-torn Mali, after efforts to evacuate him and the Kenyan delegation stranded in Bamako hit a snag. The military insurgents who successfully staged a coup yesterday and toppled President Amadou Toumani Toure have imposed a national curfew, closed down the national airport and insisted that no plane should fly on the country's airspace. But the good news is, minister Wetangula says he and the Kenyan delegation is safe, despite the heavy gunfire they can hear from the safety of their hotel. And as Francis Gachuri reports, the Kenyan government and the United Nations have initiated a joint effort to evacuate Wetangula and the ministry of foreign affairs officials from Mali.
