A cabinet reshuffle that political observers see as a big plus for allies of deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and the G7 political grouping. Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa is now the minister for justice and constitutional affairs replacing Mutula Kilonzo who has been critical of the presidential bids of Kenyatta and Eldoret north MP, William Ruto..... Mutula takes over the ministry of education from Prof. Sam. Ongeri who now holds the foreign affairs portfolio. Jamleck Kamau another of Kenyatta's allies has also been elevated to cabinet. On the other hand, Mvita MP Najib Balala who has been unhappy with the leadership of his ODM party has been fired as tourism minister. Another interesting development is the removal of Moses Wetangula from the foreign affairs docket just a day after he arrived from his ordeal in the West African Nation of Mali. The reshuffle is also being read in the context of the Kibaki Succession...... and as our associate editor Alex Chamwada reports, the timing of the reshuffle has also not gone un-noticed.
