Sources say education ministry permanent secretary James Ole Kiyiapi could resign today, Monday ahead of the kick-off of his presidential campaign.

However, when a Citizen Tv crew asked him the question at a function Sunday, Kiyiapi was non committal only saying that he will do so this week to concentrate on his presidential bid. He was at the Nairobi Pentecostal Church where he announced his intention to quit government before the end of this week.

Kiyiapi heads a long list of senior civil servants who are set to quit office in search of elective posts. Hussein Mohamed is keeping an eye on this developing story.
