Prime Minister Raila Odinga has suspended the NHIF Board and the fund's chief executive officer Richard Kerich in a decision that overrules an earlier order by medical services minister professor Anyang Nyong'o that the team stays put at the helm of the fund. Odinga has in the meantime appointed Adan Ali Adan the deputy secretary in the ministry of medical services to serve as the acting head of NHIF for a period of three months pending an audit into the alleged NHIF scandal. And as investigations proceed, Ikolomani MP Bonny Khalwale has threatened to move a censure motion in parliament against Prof. Nyong'o, should the Medical Services Minister be found culpable. Hussein Mohamed reports.
