Normal operations have resumed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport,  seven hours after it had been closed indefinitely after an EgyptAir plane veered off the runway while landing.

Consequently, all flights to the airport had been diverted to Mombasa International Airport, Entebbe and the Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salam. Departing flights from JKIA were also delayed indefinitely. All 123 passengers aboard the plane were safely evacuated.
