KDF forces are reported to have bombarded towns near the port of Kismayu as they make progress towards the Somalia port city, that is Al Shabaab's stronghold and economic hub. Fighter jets attacked the towns of Biibi and Fidigos, forcing Al Shabaab fighters to flee towards Kismayu, according to sources within the Kenyan military. And as KDF and other AMISOM forces converge towards Kismayu, the U.S. government has offered 2.7 billion shillings for information leading to the capture of Al Shabab leaders.
