U.S. Lifts Travel Advisory on Kenya

The United States government has lifted a travel advisory it had issued against the Kenyan coast on June 23rd, prompting a wave of protests from Kenyan authorities. Outgoing U.S. Envoy Scott Gration however says, the United States would continue to monitor the security situation at the coast and advise its citizenry accordingly. Speaking at the 236th U.S. Independence day celebrations, Gration also dismissed allegations that his relations with the Obama administration had turned sour because he had been micro-managing embassy affairs.
