High rates stifle rural internet connectivity

Following the failure of fiber optic operators to significantly bring down the cost of internet services, government is now courting satellite internet providers to step in. Speaking at an international telecommunications conference today vice president Edward Ssekandi noted that government's motivation in this effort is the realization of the importance of affordable internet towards fostering economic growth.
