After days of a simmering standoff, the committee finally bowed to pressure from star athletes to drop demands that the athletes travel ahead to Bristol for pre-Olympics preparations. The athletes have stood their ground, vowing to stay put in Kenya even as several key officials left for Bristol without the all important contestants.
