Francis Wilson, the South African economist and convenor of the "Towards Carnegie III" conference which ended last week in Cape Town, says cross-pollination between researchers and non-government organisations working in communities is crucial. He spoke to AllAfrica during the conference, which was designed to explore strategies to overcome poverty and inequality in South Africa.
