Kenya Judges Association Lambasts Vetting Board

The Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board has come under heavy criticism over a move to defy a court order stopping its work.

A statement signed by the chairperson of Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association Justice Martha Koome took great exception to a stand by the Vetting Board which termed the court order against it 'unconstitutional'

The Judges are incessed over the stand by the Vetting Board saying 'as members of the legal fraternity, members should be knowing the cardinal principal of the law which is promotion and protection of the rule of the law"

Justice Koome in the statement said 'even if they were unhappy over the court order stopping their work, they should obey it then challenge it'
