Kenya Govt Wants Mau Mau Case Settled Out of Court

The Kenyan government is now pushing for an out-of-court settlement in the case in which three ex-Mau Mau fighters have sued the British government for compensation. Justice Minister Eugene Wamalwa said Kenya was keen on negotiating a welfare scheme to help the elderly Kenyans who fought for the country's independence during which they were tortured by the then colonial masters. Last week, a high court in London allowed a case filed by 3 Kenyan freedom fighters to proceed to full trial. Sally Mbilu reports.
