The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has extended registration hours in areas rocked with recent violence across the country to eight in the evening.

IEBC Chairman Ahmed Isaack Hassan told Citizen TV that the extra hours would allow the commission to recover the hours lost over the past few days.

As the registration exercise entered its third day, security officials are on high alert countrywide. In Pokot 2 people have been arrested this morning while attempting to register using fake identification cards. The Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission aims to register 18 million voters by the end of the exercise.
