Like thousands of poor farmers living on the slopes of East Mount Kenya, Christine Mugure Munene used to depend on seasonal rains to water her crops. Now she has water whenever she wants. The water flows not just because there are now more tubes and pumps to push it along but because farmers like Christine are taking responsibility for conserving and protecting Kenya’s water resources.
