Raffaello Pantucci, a senior fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in London tells Al Jazeera's Darren Jordan that the armed rebels in Mali have "melted back into the desert." Pantucci also says that he expects some of the French forces will remain, post-invasion, to support and train the Malian troops in their fight against the rebels.
