Ban Asks For Intervention Brigade in Congo

UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has formally asked the Security Council to authorize the deployment of an enforcement brigade in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This follows the signing of a Framework Agreement in Addis Ababa last month where 11 regional countries agreed not to interfere in the internal affairs of the DRC as the government there undertakes sweeping reforms.
