Red Meat Industry Reputation Tarnished Following South Africa's Meat Scandal

The red meat industry says the results of tests into the meat-labeling scandal have been blown out of proportion. A Stellenbosch University study has indicated that South African meat products may contain species not identified on the label. Consumer groups are calling for tougher legislation to ensure consumers are not duped by the products they buy.
