A 24-hour curfew has been declared in neighbourhoods across Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state in Nigeria. A state of emergency was declared in Borno, and two other states on Tuesday by President Goodluck Jonathan. It was put in place to allow the military to fight the armed group Boko Haram.
